The Atlantis Gardens Blog: Reconnecting People with Nature… One Garden at a Time
Long before Atlantis Gardens became a business, nature became my sanctuary. After the loss of a loved one and stepping away from social media, I sought solace in the simplicity of the garden. Life after university was confusing, as I struggled to find a career in “sustainabilty” that truly inspired me.
I decided to move away from home and began growing and gardening for a family and small community, planting seeds and nurturing plants. With every new sprout, I discovered the joy and peace that came from watching them grow. It was in those quiet moments, tending to the plants, being surrounded by animals that I realised gardening was more than just a hobby—it was a profound path to healing, deep connection with nature, and nourishment for body, mind and soul.
Now, as I’ve turned my passion for gardening into Atlantis Gardens, my mission is clear: to reconnect people with nature and inspire our community to value and preserve the environment.
Our gardens are not just places to sit in - they are spaces to grow food. They are sanctuaries—places that nurture our well-being, create lasting memories, and reflect the rhythms of nature. Whether you’re harvesting fresh, homegrown produce from our organic no-dig vegetable gardens, enjoying a meal outdoors in a beautiful al fresco dining area, or simply tending to the beauty around you, gardens offer a unique kind of magic. They provide a space for reflection, relaxation, and connection—to ourselves, to one another, and to the world we share.
Through this blog, I’ll be sharing stories, insights, and practical advice on how we can continue to cultivate gardens that enrich both our lives and the environment. I’ll explore topics like: Organic Gardening Techniques- Biodynamics, Permaculture, Regenerative Agriculture, Agroecology, Market Gardening, Kitchen Gardening, No-dig, and Minimal Tillage practices, Cooking & Preserving Produce from the garden, the importance of Caring for Soil, Insects, and Wildlife to ensure our gardens thrive, alongside many other topics.
I invite you to join me on this journey, as we explore the many lessons that nature has to offer. Together, we’ll discover how our gardens can become powerful sources of inspiration, healing, and growth.
Let’s reconnect with nature and create gardens that nourish our bodies, minds, and spirits.
